DELTA®-DRY STUCCO & STONE 2-in-1 Ventilated Rainscreen

The Problems

Without proper ventilation and drainage, moisture can accumulate between the water-resistive barrier and siding of a building.

Stucco and stone claddings require specialized moisture control. Absorptive claddings increase the risk of solar-driven moisture, which puts wood substrates at high risk of water damage. 

The Solution

A rainscreen separates the cladding from the building, allowing drainage and moisture evaporation. DELTA®-DRY STUCCO & STONE is a ventilated rainscreen with a factory pre-installed mortar screen that reduces scratch coat mortar consumption. Air-gaps on the interior and exterior side of the membrane make DELTA®-DRY STUCCO & STONE the ideal protection behind adhered manufactured stone veneer and conventional stucco.

  • 3-dimensional membrane, dimple and groove design
  • Made of special High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
  • Pre-installed polypropylene fabric mortar screen 
  • Structured membrane, providing two-sided exterior and interior drainage and ventilation
  • Pre-installed polypropylene fabric mortar screen prevents scratch coats from filling its dimple structure
  • Ventilated air space allows interior water vapor to escape between the sheathing board and the membrane, while minimizing condensation that could cause potential damage within the building enclosure
  • Complete capillary break behind the cladding provides ventilation, which captures and drains transient moisture migrating through the wall structure
  • Waterproof, resisting the passage of bulk water from wind-driven rain and snow, and manages water leakage through the cladding
  • Membrane impedes solar-driven moisture towards the interior of the structure, such as that which occurs with absorptive cladding materials like adhered manufactured stone veneer and conventional stucco
  • Installed outboard of the water-resistive barrier over sheathing board
  • Material is easily cut with a utility knife, and seams are simply butted together, making overlapping unnecessary
  • Exterior cladding material can be installed as usual, right on top of the rainscreen
